A promotional brochure to encourage more use by team sports enthusiasts or other visitors of "The Tubes" as the line was known ("Ride by Rail! Safe, Fast, Cheap, Dependable, Convenient!) The railroad was in financial distress and this advertising publication is an example of its efforts to increase passenger revenue. Date of this item established from the listed schedule for the New York Giants football team. The map side (interior as folded) has two maps. Left is the H&M RR and connecting rail lines which are those in New Jersey (plus a few in southern New York State.) The right one is a detail map of the H&M including Hoboken and the other New Jersey stations, but focused on Manhattan. A 'heart' motif is employed as symbolic of the H&M reach as "The Heart of Downtown Manhattan" - Hudson Terminal - and 33rd St., "The Heart of Uptown Manhattan." This section includes the Manhattan subway and elevated lines. Other significant neighborhoods or cultural institutions as well as connections are noted on the map to make it useful for tourists including those going to Ebbets Field or Coney Island.
