Newsletter: informational flyer created by Jean-Paul Picard of 1028 Hudson St., Hoboken, undated, probably Monday, November 5, 2012. For fellow city residents in the aftermath of Hurricane (or Superstorm) Sandy. Full text will be found in notes. Picard created a newsletter series, The Hudson Street News, that was apparently first titled and numbered with issue 3, Saturday Nov. 3, followed by issue 4, Sunday, Nov. 4. See archives 2013.044.0001 and .0003 for those publications. Single leaf, canary paper, 8-1/2" x 11" high. Publisher Picard stated in a separate transmittal letter his criteria and procedures for this publication: -only wrote about businesses known to be open since this changed from day to day -printed on this color paper as enough stock was on hand -printed 50 at a time -used a fast setting to conserve ink -distributed it at charging stations and open centers so that people could share the flyer He remarked that people appreciated the newsletter as many were not using their smartphones and computers to conserve power. [cataloguer's note: Picard lived in a section of Hoboken that DID NOT loose power due to the storm.]
