2-1/2" x 3-7/8" high print on photographer's 3-1/2" x 5-1/4" high embossed mount. Photograph taken by Washington Studio, 316 Washington St., Hoboken (imprint on front bottom.) Pencil on reverse apparent studio notation: 94294.
Child is not identified. Fur is on a wicker chair or bench.
Note: Washington Studio address of 316 Washington St. was until circa 1893 a business address of photographer Charles de Lapotterie; he did business under his own name. It is at present his last known address.

One of a group of photographs in this accession related to the Sanntrock family which lived in Hoboken from the later part of the 19th century until the early 20th century. Consisting of images of first and second generation German immigrants, the group reflects their German heritage and culture in fashions and content (some photographs are from Germany, apparently of relatives.)
