He was the former Operations Manager of Holland America operations in Hoboken, retiring in 1953 and living on the New Jersey coast. He was one of five generations of his family that had worked for Holland America in the U.S. and Holland. He was working for H.A.L. as an employee in 1923.
Holland America Line had its American home port in Hoboken at the time of this publication.
