DescriptionPostcard: "Greetings from Hoboken, New Jersey" revised issue of 2005 postcard by Hoboken artist Raymond Smith, Hoboken, 2008. 6" wide x 4-1/4" high. Copyright 2008 by Raymond Smith. Originally created for the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Hoboken in 2005 (a copy of that issue is objects 2005.044.0002.) This 2008 issue has updated the view: at the bottom of the Lackawanna Terminal (Hoboken Terminal) to show the restored copper facade and the clock tower (lighting ceremony for tower May 9, 2008); a New York Waterways ferry is seen which replaces a sailboat in 2005 issue; the "W" Hotel at River and Third Streets (nearing completion at this time) with the "W" sign at the top. The back is slightly changed. Note: a greeting card was produced using the same artwork. According to the artist and donor, this postcard (along with the greeting card) were first issued at the Hoboken Arts & Music Festival on May 4, 2008.
