Lamp: Sperti Sun Lamp. The Miami. Model P108. Manufactured by the Sperti Faraday Co., 720 Grand St., Hoboken. Dated October 20, 1958.
Original printed corrugated cardboard merchandise box; lamp, primarily metal with glass bulb, integral wire cord; goggles; eye covers (Wink-Ease); instruction booklet.
Lamp: 9-1/2" high x 7-1/4" wide x 6" deep; integral black power cord ca. 66" long; removable metal grill; plastic hand knob on back for adjusting or carrying lamp. Printed foil label on base at top front. UV bulb present (called "UV burner" in instructions); contacts at both ends; does not work; see condition. Does not appear to be a bulb with a standard base or contacts. Bottom of base stand has ink-stamped date which is believed to be the production or inspection date.
Instruction booklet: single folio printed, die-cut cardstock, 5-1/4" diameter, [4] pages.
(Instructions for its use as UV or ultraviolet sun lamp; it also could be used as a heat or infra red lamp by replacing the bulb/burner with a special one for that purpose.)
Box:11-1/4" wide x 7-3/4" deep x 6-1/4" high. Printed over all outside surfaces with light gray bark pattern; lettering in dark blue including company name and location.
Strips with Wink-Ease eye covers; contected printed paper strip of three pairs (five of six still present.)
Goggles are the same as objects 2007.074.0206 (Sperti sunlamp goggles manufactured by Sperti Faraday, Inc., Hoboken): flesh tone plastic eyepieces with green lenses (one cracked) and elastic cord connection and head band riveted to eyepieces.
