Founder Patrolman in Hoboken 40 Years — Helped Form State Unit John Frances Hildemann, retired policeman, one of the founders of the Police Benevolent Association of the State of New Jersey, died at his home at 622 Garden St., Hoboken, from complications at 4 p. m. yesterday. He was a former police pension state commissioner, former officer of the Police Mutual Aid Society of Hoboken, and formerly for 25 years secretary of the Hoboken P.B.A. He was a patrolman in the Hoboken police department from Jan. 1, 1896, to Oct. 1, 1936, when he was retired on pension. About two years ago he became seriously ill and never fully recovered. He was born in Hoboken and lived there all his life. He could speak Italian fluently and the German dialects. Surviving are his wife, Margaret (nee Eagan); two daughters, Miss Mary Hildemann and Mrs. Rita Field; three sons, Louis, John and Arthur, the latter a Hudson County patrolman; and five grandchildren, John, Robert and Thomas Hildemann, and Mary Joy and Thomas Field. The funeral will be Monday from | the home at 9 a. m., to Our Lady of Grace Church, Hoboken, where solemn requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery.
