Mark I (trademark) Railroad Pen 5-1/4", model 55 1854 (old 932), sold by the Keuffel & Esser Co., N.Y., no date, circa 1945-1962. Hollow black handle with two pairs of nickel silver curved spring blades with three adjustment nuts. With: slipcase cardboard box with plain green paper and printed label. Marked on ferrule of handle above rules: Keufel & Esser Co. Germany.
Other common name was curve or ruling pen.
K+E general offices and factory were in Hoboken during the period when this item was made.
While this item was not made in Hoboken, it is a typical example of the imported products that were stocked and shipped by K&E; the box was probably made in Hoboken.
