The Hoboken Chamber of Commerce. Welcome to Hoboken. A Business Map of Hoboken. 2008-2009. (Published by the Hoboken Reporter, copyright 2008.) Printed two sides, 24" wide x 27" high; folded to 4" wide x 9" high.
Cover price: $1.99. Letters from Mayor David Roberts and Chamber of Commerce President Robert Mahnken with photos of each of them. Design by McKevin Shaughnessy.
An earlier edition from 2000-2001 is archives 2007.036.0406.
Published November 2008 with points of interest on the map including the "Site of Cybil's [sic Sybil's] Cave" and the "Terminal Clocktower, Erie Lackawanna Terminal" (Formally called Hoboken Terminal at present and commonly referred to as New Jersey Transit.)
Other notable additions are Maxwell Place Park, the WWII (World War Two) Memorial, the outline for Pier C park (under construction), Hoboken Cove Park, Castle Point Park, Skateboard Park (in Castle Point Park) and the W Hotel.
The uptown ferry is correctly placed at the Fourteenth Street Pier to which it moved in the late summer of 2008 from the Thirteenth St. Pier. Also noted is the Hoboken Boathouse near Maxwell Place Park.
Lackawanna Plaza is incorrectly called Lackawanna Park. (In a May 8, 2008 ceremony which preceded the lighting of the new clock tower, it was actually renamed it George Warrington Plaza. Whether this becomes the common name for the area is unknown at this time.)
The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail system that operates at the west side of town with stations at Hoboken Terminal, 2nd and 9th Streets is indicated by small icons for the stations.
Since it is a business map, it should be noted that generally only advertisers are located on the map. Locations such as public schools, firehouses, churches, Jubilee Center, Multi-Purpose Center, etc, are among the places not found on this map. The Hoboken Historical Museum is on the map and has panel of text with a photo near the Mayor's and Chamber of Commerce President's messages.
