The view is northwest of the piers and shops on River Road at the Hudson River between Ninth and Tenth Streets. From right: Maxwell House Coffee plant; rail car pier for float cars; Elysian Park; northern end Stevens Institute of Technology campus. At the top of photo are some of the large industrial buildings from NInth Street to north of the 14 Street Viaduct. Note snow on the ground.
The P.R.R. marine department was where tugboats, barges and floatcars were maintained or berthed.
