Magnus (credit with date in images lower right.) Reverse of both are blank. This Hoboken Land & Improvement Building is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located at the southeast corner of Newark and River Streets. Photo 1: view northeast of the Hoboken Land & Improvement Co. building. This scene is its west end at the foot of Newark Street (this street narrows and continues on the north side of the building) where it meets River Street plus the south side that is essentially a broad alley. Streetcars traveled through this cobblestone paved area, with two tracks seen. The building in the left background (the north side of Newark St.) is the U.S. Post Office which was soon to be demolished and replaced. (Note the automobile at the right, this is the area of the building seen in photo 2.)
