Scrapbook album titled: 1983 Por La Gente Scrap Book. PDF on file. The album is a blue canvas three-ring binder scrapbook, hand-lettered title in ink on spine and front cover, with plastic album pages with all content mounted with adhesive on black paper. Thirty-six leaves present. All leaves scanned both sides with multiple scans done to show overlapping or folded items. Contents: -over 100 newsclippings from various Hoboken, Jersey City or New York newspapers or newsletters focused on Hoboken real estate (but some have articles on other cities) and the issues such displacement, arson, rent control, local elections, protests and other local topics. All were apparently published in 1983 or 1984. -25 color photographic prints (3-1/2" x 4-3/8 wide) of a meeting apparently held in the Hoboken High School auditorium showing people on stage, speakers and other participants. Unmarked, with a print folder (also holding instamatic format color negatives) labeled: 11/82 meeting. -3 fascimile documents circa 1985 re tax surcharges for apartment renters at 719 Willow Ave., Hoboken. -Mayor Anthony Russo 1997 flier re earned income credit. --- Compiler unknown. This album, along with 4 related ones, was mailed on June 22, 2000 by Paul Morton from Brooklyn, N.Y. to Tom Olivieri, c/o City Hall, 94 Washington St., Room 5, Hoboken, N.J. It was received at City Hall and held for Olivieri who had been employed by the City of Hoboken as Tenant Advocate. The package was not received by him at that time and he retired from City Hall in 2001. He retrieved the albums in 2014 shortly before his death. ---- Por la Gente / For the People
