13 Driver’s Licenses Screening

December 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join the Thomas Edison Film Festival for a screening in honor of Universal Human Rights Month.

We will be screening the documentary “13 Driver’s Licenses” and will be joined by the director Ryoya Terao, writer/producer Elisabeth Gareis, and music composer David B. Smith.

The discovery of 13 confiscated driver’s licenses from 1938 leads a small German town to face its horrendous and regrettable past. With no other clue but those licenses, a group of high–school students with their tenacious teacher, uncover the fates of the town’s former Jewish citizens.

Ryoya is currently working on a feature length documentary that digs even deeper into the past and how the meeting of third-generation descendants of the former Jewish residents and current non-Jewish residents of the town address questions of guilt, remembrance and reconciliation.

Parking is available through the Littleman Parking-Independence Garage (Shipyard Lane, at 12th St.), which offers 3 hours of free parking with Museum validation.

Please join us for this moving event.
