Sandy Outreach Program – First Parents Meeting

Location: South Independence Conference Room in the Shipyard, 12th St. at Shipyard Ln.

Licensed Disaster Relief Crisis Counselor Dawn Donnelly will lead the first parent group meeting of the Sandy Community Outreach Program, designed for anyone who may have kids who are still having anxiety or behavior issues; or experiencing financial or housing issues; or anyone concerned about being prepared for the next storm or disaster. The first session will focus on topics such as “How to speak to children about disasters.”

This series is open to parents, grandparents, teachers, school administrators and counselors, and other guardians, and will continue every other Thursday, except for Halloween. In addition, the counselor will offer sessions to help children express their feelings and to help teens learn greater self-control.
