Artist Talk with Liz Ndoye and Ibou Ndoye Friday, March 4 at 7 pm
February 28, 2022 @ 12:00 am
The Hoboken Historical Museum is pleased to host another online-only Artist Talk on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 7 pm, with Hoboken artists Liz Ndoye and Ibou Ndoye. Their show, “Adjacent”, opens in the Upper Gallery Sunday, March 6, with a reception from 2 – 5 pm.
Liz Ndoye’s experience living amongst, and teaching Aboriginal people in the top end of Australia, helped to foster her fascination with dolls, and led her to create her own fully realized doll culture. Her drawings, paintings and installations tell the stories and myths of the dolls that inhabit the lively and playful imaginary doll world she has created.
Ibou Ndoye was born in West Africa’s most progressive capital city, Dakar, Senegal. A mixed media and glass-painting artist, Ibou Ndoye combines modernism and traditionalism, creating a style unique to himself. He describes his work as, “the short stories from oral traditions that teach, inform, awake and communicate with your subconscious.”
Tune in live on Friday and use the Chat feature to engage with these two accomplished artists as they interview and talk with each other about their histories, artistic processes, and what we can expect to see and experience in their exciting shared exhibit.
