We are thrilled to announce a book release event for “The Hidden Faces of Hoboken: A Finder’s Guide to the Architectural Heads in Hoboken”  by photographer and graphic designer McKevin Shaughnessy. Hs says, “I’ve now lived most of my life here in Hoboken but only recently set about finding the truly astonishing number of architectural heads that are here. This is surely one of Hoboken’s best-kept secrets.”

This 72 page full color limited edition hardcover book celebrates Hoboken’s best-kept secret! Throughout the city, on over 104 historic buildings, are more than 642 architectural heads. Most date back to the 1880s through the 1930s, and this book will help you find them. Featuring a detailed map, sites by categories, and districts by color, this collection also includes 11 sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Shaughnessy’s book is a natural follow up to his photography exhibit “The Hidden Faces of Hoboken” that ran in the Museum’s Upper Gallery from March- April 2021.  Click here for more details.

Come to the Hoboken Historical Museum on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2 -5 pm to pick up your copy. Shaughnessy will be on hand to sign them and related Hidden Faces keepsakes as well.
