Hoboken Talks with Danny Gans

September 24 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Please join us virtually on Thursday, September 24th at 7 PM when Daniel Gans sits down with Bob Foster for our next episode of Hoboken Talks! This online program will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook.

After graduating college, Daniel Gans’ dream was to buy a property in a community he wanted to live in, and had the opportunity for growth. Using his carpentry skills, sweat equity and design and construction management education, he hoped to be able to make a living from the income.

After spending several years living at home, saving money, and investigating communities, Hoboken stood out as the place with the characteristics that he wanted to be part of. Hoboken became Daniel’s home in the fall of 1980.

Danny believed that for a town to succeed it needed good education, recreation, and arts, as well as quality housing. His existing passion to support these types of cultural institutions pulled him even more strongly into Hoboken’s community. Some of the organizations he has been involved in are The Hoboken Advantage, The Hudson School, the Historical Museum, Mile Square Theatre and the Hudson County Schools of Technology.

He has participated locally and on the state level in government committees to advance operations and legislation to improve community goals on infrastructure and energy usage. Daniel has had the opportunity to speak at high schools, colleges and graduate schools on planning, infrastructure and history. Over the years, his businesses have welcomed interns from all levels of education.

Some of the local projects he has been involved with include the Hoboken Sewage Treatment facility, the building of the Hudson School, the Hudson Waterfront Museum, the beach and boathouse at Maxwell House, Sybil’s Cave and the 2nd Street Light Rail station walkway going south.

Daniel, his wife Linda, and their son Dylan have called Hoboken home for almost 30 years. He will have many stories to share.

Please tune in to hear more from Daniel!
