Anything Can Be Funny: A Humor Writing Workshop with Sarah Congress
April 22 @ 6:30 pm
Join Sarah Congress for a two-hour comedy writing workshop at the Hoboken Historical Museum on Tuesday, April 22nd, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
This BYOB event will include light refreshments, providing a fun and creative space to explore the art of humor writing. With only ten spots available, participants will have a chance to work with Sarah in an intimate setting to craft comedic scenes based on a theme voted on by the group.
Workshop Details:
In this interactive workshop, participants will dive into the fundamentals of humor writing by tapping into their own experiences. Sarah will guide you through the process of identifying the comedic potential in everyday situations.
From the most awkward public transit moment to that cringe-worthy family gathering, Sarah will show you how to turn the “worst” moments into comedic gold. The group will vote on a fun, umbrella theme—anything from a crystal gem shop to a cemetery or even an H&R Block office—and write a short scene inspired by it.
Expect to share laughs, gain valuable writing tips, and leave with new tools to bring humor into any writing project. You’ll be amazed at the LOL-worthy scenes that emerge from this creative exercise!
