“Let’s Play Together,” a weekly, inclusive creativity program for kids ages 3 – 11
May 4, 2021 @ 12:00 am
Every Monday at 3 pm, artist and gallery owner Issa Sow will lead “Let’s Play Together,” a weekly creativity workshop for kids ages 3 – 11. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Held outside in the walkway by the Museum entrance, the program is designed to be inclusive of children around the entire neurodiversity spectrum, so they can learn to create art, music and dance movement together.
The program is open to all, with a suggested $5 donation. No registration required.
Call 201-656-2240 if you have questions.
Issa Sow is the founder and curator of Issyra Gallery in the Neumann Leathers building at 300 Observer Highway. Since 2012, Issa’s gallery has shown handpicked traditional and contemporary artwork from central and western Africa, in a true “melange des cultures,” with a variety of exhibitions. He is also a prolific artist in his own right, whose artwork was exhibited in the Museum’s Upper Gallery in 2019, “Hoboken: From Old to New.”
Issa was born and raised in Senegal, Africa. He moved to France in the 90s and then relocated to the USA and Hoboken with his wife and children. Issa is truly passionate about art and aims to support and promote African “living art” and artists, including music and dance. He is a generous volunteer, involved in the Hoboken education and arts scene through relationships with schools and cultural events and the Hoboken Arts Committee.
