Hoboken lost one of its most talented artists last month, textile artist Peggy McGeary. She touched many lives in her adopted hometown of Hoboken, creating a commemorative quilt for the city’s 150th anniversary, and sharing it and other examples of her quilting talent in an exhibit at the Hoboken Historical Museum in 2007.

 

The Hoboken Museum is hosting a memorial event organized by her friends on Sunday, January 26, at 4 pm. All are welcome, please bring a finger food and beverage to share.

 

Also, Peggy’s family and friends are hosting a sale of her studio contents on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 23-25, from 10 am – 6 pm, at the Yardley building, 600 Palisades Ave., in Union City. Fabric, sewing supplies and more will be sold on a cash basis, on behalf of her estate.
