Stars, Stripes & Sails: Pier 14 Viewing Party

July 4 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

*IMPORTANT UDPATE*

The City of Hoboken recently shared the following travel and parking information with us, and we wanted to pass it along to help you plan your visit for the Pier 14 Viewing Party on July 4th.

Due to the anticipated large crowds attending Sail4th 250 events and the Fourth of July festivities, Hoboken’s Office of Emergency Management has issued a Gridlock Alert for July 4. Significant traffic delays are expected throughout the day and evening. The City strongly encourages visitors to use public transportation whenever possible.

If you plan to drive into Hoboken, please note the following:

  • Hoboken Police officers will be stationed at key entry points into the city, and vehicle access will be restricted.
  • Visitors driving into Hoboken must have proof of a pre-paid parking reservation.
Drivers without proof of a pre-paid parking reservation may be denied entry into Hoboken.
  • Parking reservations can be purchased in advance through ParkMobile using the link here.

Please have your parking confirmation readily available when entering the city.

Additional temporary road closures and parking restrictions will also be in effect throughout July 4 to support public safety operations and maintain emergency access routes.

This Fourth of July, experience a once-in-a-generation moment on the Hoboken waterfront.

Join the Hoboken Historical Museum for a special ticketed fundraiser on Pier 14 as New York Harbor becomes the stage for the Sail4th 250 Parade of Tall Ships — a landmark international celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, also known as the nation’s Semiquincentennial.

Inspired by the grand maritime celebrations of the 1976 Bicentennial, this historic event will bring together one of the largest international flotillas in modern history. Tall ships and naval vessels from around the world will sail up the Hudson River from the Verrazzano Bridge to the George Washington Bridge in a spectacular procession celebrating freedom, diplomacy, exploration, and global connection. Participating vessels and crews represent countries including the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and many more.

The celebration is expected to draw visitors from across the region and around the world, transforming New York Harbor into a living tribute to America’s past, present, and future. Throughout the day, guests on Pier 14 will have the opportunity to witness this extraordinary event unfold across the waterfront while enjoying one of Hoboken’s most unique vantage points along the Hudson River.

The main attraction will be the parade of tall ships that is scheduled to run from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. We advise arriving in time to watch this historic event.

You must check in by 4:00 PM to receive your wristband. Our check-in station will close at 4:00 PM, and there will be no staff available after that time to distribute wristbands. Without a wristband, you will not be able to access the event area on Pier 14. If you plan to arrive later in the day, please make arrangements to check in before 4:00 PM.
