WWI Feature Film Series: “Wings” (1927)
Flying aces in aerial battle scenes, romance, Clara Bow, and a young Gary Cooper! On Friday, Nov. 3, at 7 pm, the Museum is pleased to wrap up its a WWI-themed film series with the Academy Award-winning silent film, “Wings,” starring Clara Bow and Charles “Buddy” Rogers, and featuring in his first major motion picture a young Gary Cooper. The 1927 film won the Oscar for Best Picture, and another for Special Effects. This movie set the standard for epic aerial battle scenes on the big screen, employing more than 300 pilots and military advisors for technical accuracy. Considered a lost film for decades, a version was located in a French film archive in 1992 and restored..
Tickets to the series are $10 for each film, $5 for members, and include light refreshments
