Hoboken House Tour
The Hoboken Historical Museum House Tour is an annual event that invites the public to explore the rich history and architectural beauty of Hoboken, New Jersey, while supporting a great cause.
This popular fundraiser is one of the Museum’s longest-running and most beloved events, offering participants the unique opportunity to visit some of Hoboken’s finest—and most interesting—living spaces.
It is a self-guided tour featuring 8 to 10 homes. Past tour stops have included an art-filled, lovingly restored Victorian on Hudson Street, a large Shipyard condo with sweeping views of Manhattan, and a special visit to the Yankee Ferry boat. Each home on the tour offers a distinct charm and story, showcasing a variety of architectural styles that highlight the city’s diverse heritage.
Tours begin from the check-in locations, where ticket-holders will receive a booklet with a map and brief descriptions of the homes’ most interesting features. The event not only offers a glimpse into the past but also celebrates the preservation efforts of homeowners and the community.
Visitors can expect to see beautifully restored interiors, period furnishings, and learn about the fascinating histories of the homes and their former residents. Allow between 2 to 3 hours to visit all the homes on the tour. All proceeds from the event go directly to the Hoboken Historical Museum, supporting its mission to preserve and share the city’s rich history.
The Hoboken Historical Museum House Tour is perfect for history enthusiasts, architecture buffs, and anyone interested in the cultural heritage of Hoboken. It’s a day filled with discovery, learning, and appreciation for the city’s rich past, all while contributing to the preservation of Hoboken’s historical legacy.
The 2024 House Tour will take place on Sunday, October 27th.
