Scope and ContentBill of lading: iron ore from Sterling Iron and Railway Co. shipped on barge William Murtagh to Morris & Essex Railroad, Hoboken, N.J., Oct. 8, 1867; shipment to Roberts Iron Co., Allentown, Pa. Printed paper form, 4-1/4" high x 11" wide, holographic ink entries. The shipment of over 208 tons was loaded at Port of Piermont and bound for Hoboken. The ore was received at Hoboken on Oct. 14, 1867 with acknowledgement of receipt recorded on back.
