Scope and ContentPrinted sheet: Doll Cut-Outs, Set No. 1; Set No. 2; Set No. 3; uncut paper doll figures and clothes (produced by the Decalco Litho. Company, Hoboken, no date, 1918-1925.) Printed leaf 19-1/8" high x 23-1/2" visible width (as framed it would appear that the sheet size would have been in typical proportions 25" wide, so it is presumed to have been trimmed for framing.) Related items were printed on uncoated heavyweight paper, printed one side, full-color, on 8" x 11" high sheets. Company name does not appear on this sheet. SEE RELATED. Not examined out of frame: outside dimensions 21-5/8" high x 25-5/8" wide; 1" wide black molded wood. Name of Doll Cut-Outs and set numbers appear once in various locations. It was not a sheet intended to be cut into smaller sheets. Many more pieces of clothing appear on this sheet than the sum of all on Sets Nos. 1 to 3 in archives 2015.001.0072 as well as the arrangement of the doll figures. The clothing fashions depicted appear to be from before the early date of issue. The artwork was likely originally produced in an earlier period when the company was called American Transfer Pictures & Printing Co. (founded 1908.) This sheet carries its later name, Decalco Litho Co., which was first used in 1918. See notes and related.
