Notes: Information on Decalco per Hans, 100 Hoboken Firsts, page 73, where this sheet is shown: The first American manufacturer of decals was located in Hoboken. This business, located at 611 Newark Street in the 1920s, was founded in 1908 under the name American Transfer Pictures & Printing Co. According to the History of the Municipalities of Hudson County, 1924 "during its early years the activities of the enterprise comprised chiefly the manufacture of printed toy goods, and the company is understood to have been the original American manufacturer of children's decalcomania transfer pictures." The business was incorporated in 1918 as Decalco Litho Company, Inc. ==== The company is also known to have published two series of baseball cards in 1920 in strip format.
