Spline weight or "lofting duck", 57 2870, made by Keuffel & Esser Co. (Hoboken), copyright 1966. Shaped lead with molded surface; green textured paint finish; bottom green felt; steel hook extends 1-1/8" from front end for connecting to spline. Overall: 6-3/4" long x 1-7/8" high x 1-3/4" high; weight unstated. Two each; each with original two piece paper covered cardboard carton with printed paper label with copyright date on end; wood block in each carton to secure hook.
K&E logo appears on top. Stock number does not appear on item.
Objects were typically used to hold a flexible curve or spline in place when tracing or drafting and including layout in fabrication work.
May have been made later than 1970. K&E had their main office and factory in Hoboken until December 1968.
