Hardwood pantograph, model 1144, made by Keuffel & Esser Co., N.Y. No date, circa 1935-1948. Wood bars (5/8" wide x 3/16" thick; 2 at 21" long; 2 at 19" long) overall length closed: 21" long x 2" wide; open size in use variable, but circa 14" x 26" is typical;, drilled holes marked with numerals and ratios. Nickel plated metal mountings; two removable screw-eyes for adjusting pivot point for ratios; metal tracer point holder with metal pin tip. Stamped with manufacturer's name, griffin trademark and model number; metal anchor stand or bracket (as seen in catalog page drawing). With: original 2 piece carton with printed label on end of lid. A device used in drafting and design work. This model designed for reducing or enlarging in 18 ratios. It was a catalogue item for many decades. The style of the product label suggests the date range along with fact that is not listed in the 41st edition of 1949.
K+E main office and factories were in Hoboken during the period it was made.
