Incidentally, I guess you all know our club is an official club, meaning that I got permission from Frank to start it. We need all the poems about Frank that we can possibly get and if anyone has had a special experience with “OUR GUY” how about putting it into writing and sending it to our secretary. We’d like all the members to read about it! We (the secretary and I) are planning a get-together for all you members. You’re all invited and I want as many as possible to come. We’ll send you definite plans very soon. Well, that’s about all for now. Please send in any original poems and stories. Also let me know when you receive this issue and how you like it. Don’t forget to keep tuning in on Frank and keep boosting him! There must be loads who have received cards or letters from me about being a pen-pal and haven’t answered. So come on kids I bought an extra large mailbox and my mailman though 4-F is eligible to carry your letters. So come and write to me and tell me your special pen-pal choice as to ages, hobbies, and special interests or just any particular choices you may have. Yes, I know some of you fellow-swooners haven’t heard from me as yet, but that shouldn’t stop you from writing me and giving me your choice as stated above. Here are a few members names who want pen-pals: choices stated below their names and I hope the person who qualified will write to the girl for each of these kids are grand and you’ll enjoy their letters as much as I have. Estelle Drope 411 Limestone Akron 7, Ohio Would like pen-pals between the ages of 14-16, also someone who collects movie-stars pictures, as she would like her pen-pal to exchange pictures with her. She’s really a swell person and I know you’ll enjoy her letters. Ruth Schwoger 671 Belmont Ave. Newark 8, New Jersey Ruthie would like pen-pals from 14-15 years of age. She likes to roller-skate, go to parties, likes fan clubs, and movies, and would like a fellow member who qualifies her choice. Rose Giordano 2366 Lorrilard PI. Bronx, New York Stamp-collecting and collecting pictures of Frankie are Rose’s hobbies. She would like her pen-pals between the ages of 13-14. Also, as I never handled a column up until now, I want all of you who have any criticisms or suggestions to feel free to write to me. FRANK-ly yours, Wanda Karoblis 237 South Main St Athol, Massachusetts I DREAM OF YOU SATURDAY NIGHT Columbia #36762 “OUR CHOICE” has recently recorded this swell ballad, and oh! you will love it! Franks ijIirowing is especially good on this disc. The orchestrations done by Axel Stordahl are superb. The flipover is a catchy swing number written by Sammy Cahn and Julie Styne. When you play this side of the record you will “swing and sway the Sinatra way”. IF YOU ARE BUT A DREAM WHITE CHRISTMAS Columbia #36756 This number was adapted from Rubensteins “Romance”, and Frank does a beautiful job on this platter. He gives out with his true style of singing, you know; easy and heavenly on the ears. The reverse is one which Bing Crosby introduced in “HOLIDAY INN”. Frank is accompanied with a chorus under the capable direction of Axel Stordahl. IT’S FUNNY TO EVERYONE BUT ME Columbia #36738 Frank made this recording way back when he was singing with Harry James. It’s an oldy, but it’s been played on the radio and in juke boxes a great deal lately. As usual Mr. Frank Sinatra renders some mighty nice lyrics on this vocal. * * * ==== THE VOICES ECHO [page] 4 PEN-PALS (Con.) is a movie fan and loves to sit for hours in a theater seeing the pictures over and over. Would also like a pen-pal who is interested in sports. Also someone who has people in service. Wanda Karoblis 237 South Main St. Athol, Mass. This Swoonatra is a senior in high school and will be 18 in April. Her hobbies are collecting Frankie’s records, and Frankie’s pictures. Would you by any chance fill these qualifications? Drop these girls a line if you believe you are their choice. If you haven’t as yet written to me please don’t delay, so I can have your name perhaps to put in my column next issue, hey? Your FRANK-est SINATRA fan, Ruthie Hilf 237 Leslie St. Newark, New Jersey POSTAL PATROL The purpose of this column is for all the members to write to the people listed below and ask for articles, stories, and pictures of Frank to appear in their magazines. Malmgreen, Editor Modern Screen 149 Madison Avenue New York City Pat Murphy, Editor Movie Stars Parade 295 Madison Avenue New York City Dorris Cline, Editor Movieland 1476 Broadway New York City I would like all the members to write to: Max Factor, 1666 North Highland Ave., Hollywood, California and thank them for sponsoring the new Frank Sinatra Show. * * * * OUR GUY By Lucille Manzi Frankie is a special name Sinatra is a name of fame, He himself is a wonderful guy, And there are plenty of reasons why. His voice! Oh gosh, it’s just the best It’s better far than all the rest. He may not have Jon Hall’s physique, But, then again, he’s far from weak. His eyes are like the skies of June. But, there not all that make us swoon We love the curl that’s in his hair. For his is one that’s very rare. These are few of the reasons why, We think of him as our guy ==== ==== Status: OK Status By: dw Status Date: 2015-06-05
