Sinatra’s talks to youngsters get immediate results. “ Frankie’s United Swooners,” headed by Elsie Ellovich, sends clothes to English children, bought a phonograph for wounded GIs, helped a service man sell his collection of moving pictures so that he could undergo an operation, adopted a French war orphan, and gifted the Red Cross with $10. . . . Lillian Sabin’s “ Hotra Sinatra ” club, on his birthday, presented $25 to the Sister Kenny Foundation.
“ The Melody of Sinatra ” club, led by Beverly Bush, recently completed a fund-raising drive for the Brooklyn Summer Camps for Crippled Children, sent $5 to the Red Cross, the same amount to March of Dimes, and raised more money during Brotherhood Week.
