Syrup bottle with molded "Log Cabin' Syrup" and cabin logo; "Reg. U.S. Pat[ent]. Off. (Log Cabin Syrup or Log Cabin Products Division of General Foods, Hoboken?) No date, circa 1932?-1940. Clear mold blown glass, 7-7/8" high x 3-1/4" wide sextagonal base; integral neck handle. Contents amount not stated on object; probably 8 or 9 fluid ounces. Original cap not present; pry off cap style? Maker's mark on base not legible, but a separately placed numeral '9' is seen.
This bottle, made for retail packaging and distribution, is believed to be from the period when the Log Cabin Products Division of General Foods which was based in Hoboken (beginning in 1926 or 1927.)
What is known is as found in archives, 2010.007.0135, a General Foods publication from ca. 1934-1946: "A distinctive glass container - selected as one of the hundred best designs in modern packaging - was introduced in 1932 in several markets where glass containers are preferred to tin."
