Metal can, Anchor Brand Sweetened Fancy Thread Coconut, [10 Pounds.] Manufactured by Franklin Baker Division of General Foods Corporation, Hoboken, N.J., no date, ca. 1928-1940. 12-1/4" diameter x 7-5/8" high tin with lift off lid perforated at the center with 1/8" diameter air holes grouped in a 1-1/4 diameter area; remains paper label printed in red, gold and black applied to the side, 8-3/4" wide x 3-3/4" high. Can worn and rusted in spots.
Perforated number code on label: 8070. Also printed code at lower right: P-1099. Note the product is described as "Thread" rather than "Shred" coconut.
While weight was stated on a missing portion of this label, this can size corresponds to a marked 10 pound can of Snowdrift brand.
Date is likely to be earlier than later.
Franklin Baker was the maker of Baker's Coconut.
