Scope and ContentTwo leaves typewritten May, 1901, last will and testament of James Miller, signed, but not witnessed. No day is written in the appropriate space. Miller named his daughter-in-law Mae (sic, actually Mary) Henry Miller as his executrix and main beneficiary with the proviso of providing for the education and welfare of his grandchildren, Florence and Madeline Miller. Also he provides that his sister, Margaret Booth will be allowed to live with the main beneficiary. The grandchildren were to receive the residue of the estate upon the death of Mae (Mary) Henry Miller. This will was apparently not witnessed as the nearly illegible signature of Miller testifies that he may not have been of "sound mind." He was later declared a lunatic and placed under a court-appointed guardian.
