Work diary for 1942 of William Craig, employee of Bethlehem Steel Shipyard, Hoboken Division. Craig was a supervisor as well as a photographer. The Museum does not own the original. It is present in the Museum's collections as digital scans and reference prints. This record has 163 images with all pages shown before Nov. 22nd. There are not entries after Nov. 19th. The Museum also has his 1941 diary in the same form (2002.209.0002).
The original was a 6" x 9" hardbound printed daily diary ("Deskaide, The Silent Secretary")as was typically available at stationery stores. It is filled in with pen or pencil by Craig with the names of vessels, locations, piers, work hours plus costs for meals, travel, and telephone calls.
