DescriptionCommemorative pin: Hoboken Lodge No. 74, BPOE [Benevolent Protective Order of Elks], (8th) Annual Outing, 1908. Three piece pin connected by metal links; cast, stamped and enameled metal; pin back plus hanging bar; overall height 4-3/8", width of elements varies from 1-5/8' to 1-13/16". Ecru ribbon, 1-1/2" wide x 4" long. Reverse of bottom medal has maker's mark: Dieges & Clust, 23 John St., N.Y. The top element, the pin clasp bar is lettered Hoboken Lodge with "74" below The middle bar element states: Annual Outing 1909. (Although it does not state which annual outing, this was the eighth; see objects 2012.001.0006 for the one from 1909 which states 9th Annual Outing.) The bottom medallion has "B.P.O.E." lettering, the clock with an elk depiction and motto. --- badge
