Patch: Demarest High School. (Hoboken). No date, circa 1959-1962. Belonged to student Stephen Brown, Class of 1962.
White felt (yellowed), 4-7/8" diameter; printed in red. Motif includes two redwings attached to the capital 'D'; Redwings was the school nickname.
An unused applique item that would have typically been sewn to a sweater pocket, an arm sleeve or even on the arm or breast position of a wool and leather jacket common in that era.
Demarest High School was Hoboken's public high school and was located at Fourth and Garden Streets until 1962. When a new high school opened at Eighth and Clinton Streets in the fall of 1962, it was given the name Hoboken High School and Demarest became a middle school.
