The view is looking northwest. The Holland American Line pier offices, Fifth Street and River Road, are at the top left with an un-named Holland America ocean liner at their pier. Top center are the Hoboken Dock Stores, Inc. Eighth Street headhouse and pier sheds. Merchant vessels can be seen at their piers. Along the top left edge are Stevens Institute of Technology buildings. The edge of American Export Lines piershed at Pier C is seen at the bottom left.
River Road became Frank Sinatra Drive. This waterfront area became Frank Sinatra Park and the Riverfront Walkway.
