Photographer not indicated. People are not identified. Julius Durstewitz appears to be the man in front, fifth from the right, standing behind a seated girl. View is looking southeast, near the corner of Garden and Fourth Streets with A.J. Demarest High School in the background. Event is not identified, but it suggests one involving animals or pets (possibly a "Blessing of the Animals" ceremony.) Note that most of the children in the foreground have dogs; a pony is at the left; the seated girl at the right has a bird cage. From the bare tree and the heavy clothing, it is probably late fall or early spring.
