Two adjacent apartment buildings; irregular plan; 4 stories plus raised basement; 6 bays except 5 bays on first floor; tripartite division of brick façade with recessed sections; single and triple 6/1 sash windows; flat roof; brick lintels and stone sills; central stoop, steel and glass double-door entrance with transom window, stone surround and door head; fire escape; stone water table. 453 Mt. Prospect: Brick façade with chevron patterned panels; crenelated parapet flanked by pediments; bracketed cornice and paneled frieze. 457 Mt. Prospect: Brick façade with geometric patterned panels; flat parapet; consoled cornice and patterned brick frieze.
