It may have been a charity or all-star game. Considering the provenance of the Gallo family of 509 Monroe St., it is possible there is an association with a family member in the photo who is not recognized. It is also possible that it is re-union of players (they all appear to be about the same age) who lived or had lived in Hoboken or in the same neighborhood of the city such as the 500 block area of Monroe St. The team uniforms are: 1: Stegmaier (with Hob. on the sleeve) is worn by the six standing players: probably a team sponsored by Stegmaier's Beer which was in Hoboken (as of 1951 it was at 503 Madison St.) 2: Dickinson (possibly Dickinson High School of Jersey City) 3: T.(?) H. Henken Assn. 4: S J Mites (Saint Joseph's or Saint John's?) 5: Seton Hall (University?) 6: The team name on the player's uniform at the right in front row is not readable.
