Scope and ContentHoboken Cemetery plot deed of Herman L. Timken, Feb. 8, 1876. With 2 attached legal documents assigning the plot to a Bertha A. Hannibal, dated February 14 & February 9, 1928. PDF in digital archive. Printed deed is 14" high x 17" wide, printed both sides, holograpic entries, signatures plus city seal. Sold to Timken (he served later as Hoboken's Mayor from 1883-1886) and his heirs for $123 by the Mayor and Council of the City of Hoboken for plot letter "T" in "Prospect Mound" in Section lettered "M" on said map "being a circular plot surrounded by Timken Path." The deed was signed by Mayor Joseph Russell. Two signed typewritten attachments, 8" x 13" high. Attachment 1: Sale of plot to Bertha A. Hanniball by Rose Timken and Bertha E. Timken (see notes), dated February 14, 1928. Attachment 2: Sale of plot to Bertha A. Hanniball by heirs of Herman L. Timken, dated February 9, 1928. Signatories were: Herman L. Timken, Bertha E. Timken, J. Henry Timken, Florence B. Bird, Rose Marie Willenborg, Herman L. Timken plus witnesses. On the front of the deed in columns at the left and right are Hoboken Cemetery rules and regulations.
