As World War I had ended, the U.S. Government was concerned with getting back items that had been purchased with their funds or recovering the cost of them. These documents relate to that process.
This memo discusses that now that the war is over, how to dispose of equipment purchased for local draft board use; the need get the best price possible; return sale funds to the U.S. Treasury. Suggests minimum prices such as $60 for a typewriter (which was $100 new and "all practically new and have had little service"), office furniture at 50 percent of their purchase price and waste paper at the prevailing rates in the state.
