Notes: Transcription of holographic letter on stationery of New Hotel Sheldon, Atlantic and Magnolia Avenues, Wildwood, N.J. to Florence G. Miller, 716 Garden St., Hoboken, from Annie E. Moore. (Moore was the mother of Allan W. Moore, the late fiance of Miller, who died circa April 10, 1919.) Aug. 17, 1919. Dear Florence, I've just return from benediction. Rena & Annie are on the porch and I stole away to write a few letters. I think I made a mistake to come here as the sight of the ocean nearly drives one crazy, buyt there was no place else for me to go as Annie very kindly changed her plans to spend her vation in Atlantic City to come here with me - Agnes has a cottage here about three miles further down accessible by trolley - We were marooned there to-day on account of a dreadful rainstorm. This is the third we've had since we came on last Tuesday - I've been very blue & have only had one restful night - We phoned for a taxi & reached here about 2 hours ago in time for tea - I've had one ocean bath, I don't care to go in the water although the folks say the salt water would be good for my nerves - It is very quiet here but strange to say the place is crowded with young folds - We had to take a room opening on the porch, nothing else available. Jenny & family are at the Yarmouth. John & Mame at Tom Quinlan's cottage on Maryland Ave. - The Maywood Villa - Rena is with us. She intended at first to stop at the Yarmouth but I believe the rates were prohibitive - Is there anything new? - I received a postal from the P.O. to-day stating that papers were being held there for insufficient postage - I presume they the Observers that Neil was to send - I am enclosing a postal which will give you an idea of the Hotel - I do hope you are feeling much better - Please write me when you have a few moments - I would have been more than pleased to have had you here as I think the salt air might proven beneficial.
