Trade Catalogue of Measuring Tapes and Hardware Specialties. 1926, 9th [Ninth] Edition. Keuffel & Esser Co., New York & Hoboken. Softcover metal stitched booklet, 5-3/4" x 8-3/4" high, 76 pages [actually 77; there are pp. 20 and 20a], illustrated. Indexed. Lacking: separately issued printed price list. PDF on file. Tiffs media archive.
Cover is imprinted at bottom: Contractor, Geo. F. Muth & Co., Washington, D.C.
This separately issued catalog with its extensive offerings was a wholesale catalog for hardware stores, contractor suppliers, feed and grain stores and similar sales outlets. Page format is the same as the general catalog of the era. It includes devices for professionals in several different trades as well as for the non-professional. It is unpriced and for common items it states packaging, i.e., six or a dozen to a package. Counter or shelf displays are offered for folding rules, small tapes and thumbtacks. Since it is unpriced, it presumably could be shown to retail customers for them to select a specific product as the range and options were extensive.
It included several pages devoted to thumb tacks; specialties include arrows (surveyor's pins), plumb bobs, pocket compasses, sight compasses, Favorite Farm Level and Favorite Farm Transit Level.
As stated, K&E main office and factories were in Hoboken. Most items in the catalog would have been made there.
