Color inkjet copy print of Tami Mauriello and Frank Sinatra mugging in a publicity shot, no place, probably New York, no date, circa 1940-1946. 8" x 10" print; reverse blank. Original photographer not indicated. Two copies. The prints were made ca. 2007 for news article described below.
Sinatra, the singer, posing a prize fighter, and Mauriello, a heavyweight boxer, posing as a singer holding sheet music. Mauriello fought in several heavyweight championship bouts in the 1940's. He was a long-time friend of Frank Sinatra and Sinatra provided some support for Mauriello's boxing career. Mauriello also appeared as "Tullio," a waterfront union thug, in the motion picture, "On the Waterfront," which was filmed in Hoboken .
