Lantern slide projector: Stereomotorgraph Model C manufactured by Charles Beseler Co., N.Y., no date, ca. 1915-16. Used for projection of typical 3-1/4" x 4" glass lantern slides by Hendberg's Florists,415 Washington St., Hoboken. Later the property of D'Angelo Florists of Hoboken. It was used for promotion of their offerings and services. (See pages 16-19 of The Hoboken Oral History Project's "Everybody Seems to Know Me by the Paper Hat", library catalog 2003.040.0005, for recollections of Hendberg (mis-spelled as 'Henberg') Florists by Albert Hegetschweiler. His father's sister was married to Maurice Hendberg.)
Projector came with 63 lantern slides mounted in an electrically motorized ring holder. Slides are in the photo catalog 2001.091.0002 to 2001.091.0064. Most of the slides were from two of the well-known lantern slide producers of that time period: Beseler Lantern Slide Co. and Lawrence Van Altena.
Outside dimensions of the painted metal unit are: 22" wide x 30" deep x 17" high. Weight is approximately 50 pounds. Manufacturer's brass identification plate has the "3C" stamped next to the "Model C." It also lists 4 patents: 1913, 1914 and two from 1915. The last is from August 24, 1915.
