June 20, 1899 To the Hon.Mayor & Council; Gentlemen; At a stated session of the Commission held on Monday Evening,June 19th. the following was adopted and I was directed to transmit a copy of the same to your Honorable body for consideration; Whereas: The overcrowded condition of our schools have necessitated the opening of five annexes to accommodate the surplus pupils during the past year at a great expense to the Commission,and Whereas: the influx of pupils in September next will necessitate the opening of more annexes illy adapted to school purposes;therefore be it Resolved:- That the Commission communicate with the Mayor and Council ashing them to appropriate an amount sufficient for a new school in order to provide for the great overflow of pupils who desire to attend our schools; and be it furthur Resolved:-that the Mayor and Common Council be requested to appoint a day for conference on the subject with the Commission.
