Recipes that can use Davis products, Baking Powder or Cocomalt (both made in Hoboken in that era), have them specified in the ingredients. Each page of recipes included promotional advertising for Davis Baking Powder as a page footer, the copy changing from page to page or across the foot of a two-page spread, e.g. "Davis Baking Powder is Accepted by the American Medical Association on Foods." Copyright for Davis is on page [103], the inside back cover which also has an amusing photograph of a great room or baronial hall captioned: A view in the home of the Mystery Chef.
