Steel arrows, stock no. 6509-2, manufactured by Keuffel & Esser Co., New York & Hoboken, no date, circa 1950-1960. Pointed steel stake, 7/32" diameter, with 2" diameter ring head; overall 14" high; painted with enamel paint in alternate red and white markings; original two piece tray box with printed paper label on end of sliding tray (only identification of maker and product name.) Box labeled as 1 set of 11 arrows (which corresponds to catalog description); only six present. Box: plain corrugated cardboard, 16" long x 3" wide x 2" high.
Surveyors would use an arrow to mark a specific spot or by running rope through the ring of several to define a specific area. Obsolete name for item is surveyor's pins.
K&E main office and factories were in Hoboken during the period when this item was made and sold.
