Typewritten on back: X49-536. PS-NJ [Public Service of New Jersey] car 2808 of Union City Line at Palisades [Jersey City Heights] end of trestle on 8/6/49 last day of service. Stremer (sic) on car side states that this car will make the last trip at 4:47 AM 8/7/49.
Another sign above the windows reads: Farewell to the Trolleys. See photo catalog 2008.012.0206 for image of Jackson Ave.-Greenville Line car with similar signage for that route.
The view is on the elevated or 'L' trestle; direction of view is not apparent. Note also on the left front of the streetcar is a sign for Palisades Park.
The trolleys or streetcars that used this line on the south end of Hoboken ran to and from a terminal at Hudson Place next to the Lackawanna Terminal. They also had connections to street level routes in Hoboken.
